The Orange Soil and Water Conservation District was created in 1946 pursuant to Chapter 582 of the Florida Statutes. The District is a governmental subdivision of the State of Florida; there are 5 elected supervisors who are non-salaried and non-partisan public officials. The supervisors and OSWCD staff work in cooperation with the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and other federal, state, and local agencies to carry out a variety of activities including conservation and education programs to help protect and conserve Florida's natural resources.
