AFCD Officers are elected to terms of 4 years and also serve on their respective Soil & Water Conservation District boards. They serve a vital role in Florida's conservation efforts as the governing body of nearly 63 individual Soil & Water Conservation Districts.
The Board's primary focuses are to assist the Districts in natural resource management and conservation and to build a strong legislative voice for Florida conservation. To do this, the AFCD Board is responsible for bringing the districts closer together to act more as a single unit through effective communication and Leadership Development. All this is done while helping to build the capacity and capabilities of the individual districts, expanding available resources, promoting conservation education and enhancing public awareness.
